A.L. Underhill, Jr. was the only one of his lineage to earn a Doctorate, and to become a Professor at a College. He served as a translator for a visiting French Mathematician in Illinois, and also was a substitute parent for his niece, Editha Underhill (whose mother died when she was aged 4, then raised by her maternal grandparents in Elmira, NY). Anthony & Priscilla had no children. He served as a Captain of Battery D of the 50th Artillery Coast Artillery Corps during W.W. I then returned to Minneapolis, MN to teach after his service.
