James Thomas Skiles, 77 years, died Wednesday, April 12, 1961, in his home at Carmichaels, RD 1. He was a son of Lytle and Emma Jane Huston Skiles, and was born June 5, 1883 at Carmichaels. Mr. Skiles had spent his life in the Carmichaels vicinity. He was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian Church at the Glades, and Nemacolin Local No. 6290 United Mine Workers. Surviving are his wife, Bessie Olive Skiles, three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Daily of Carmichaels, Mrs. John Schultz of Waynesburg and Mrs. Alice Mackey of Garards Fort; one son, Clyde Skiles of Carmichaels; one sister, Mrs. D. L. Murphy of Carmichaels, and two brothers, William Walter Skiles of Carmichaels and Edward P. Skiles of Nemacolin. Funeral services were held Saturday in Glades Church, conducted by Rev. Thomas Conboy. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
