Winsell D. ZARTMAN, Sr., 41, 1715 Monroe street, died Friday at 6:45 p.m. in his home. He had been ill three years. Born Oct. 11, 1928, in Rochester, he was the son of Dewey M. and Bernice WELLER ZARTMAN. His marriage was May 26, 1951, in St. Louis, Mo., to Barbara HOOKS, who survives. He had lived most of his life in the Rochester area and was a maintenance foreman for the Marion division of the Erie-Lackawanna railroad. He was also a member of the First Christian church, Rochester, and a veteran of the Korean conflict. Surviving with the wife are one daughter, Debra [ZARTMAN], at home; two sons, Winsell [ZARTMAN], Jr., and Douglas Scott [ZARTMAN], also at home; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Ray SHELTON, Rochester; one sister, Mrs. Roger (Betty) YEIDER, Fort Wayne; one brother, Jack M. ZARTMAN, Cocoa, Fla.; five nieces, and two nephews. His father preceded in death. Final rites will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. Josef PALAT will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Rochester. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today. The family requests that memorials other than flowers be made as contributions to the Cancer Fund.
