Anna May Tomasek Shimek, 76, of Carmichaels, RD1, died at 4:30 pm Sunday, February 21, 1965, in Greene County Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness.

She was born March 22, 1888, at Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late William and Anna Hatina Tomasek.

In 1907 she married Matthew Shimek who died in 1950.

Most of her life was spent in the Carmichaels vicinity, where she was a member of the Glades Presbyterian Church and a Gold Star Mother.

She was also a member of Cumberland American Legion Post 400 Auxiliary and the Carmichaels VFW Post Auxiliary.

Surviving are nine children, Edward of Bald Knob, Ark.; George of Uniontown, Arthur of Akron, Ohio; Benjamin of Bobtown; Harold of Carmichaels; Albert of Mather; Irene, wife of Joseph Wojtowicz, of Carmichaels, Josephine, wife of Joseph Pio of Pittsburgh, and Ruthella wife of Marvin Smith of Fort Meade, Md.

Also surviving are 22 grand children, three great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Stewart, Mrs. Bertha Stewart and Helen Dorotinsky, all of Uniontown; Mrs. Matilda Gray of Greenville; Mrs. Coleen Earle of Montgomery, W.Va; Mrs. Sally Sunn of Hawaii; Joseph Tomasek of Hartstown; John, Frank and Harold Tomasek all of Uniontown; Thomas Tomasek of Montgomery, W.Va., and Albert Tomasek of Detroit, Mich.

Two sons and two brothers are deceased.
