COMMERCE – Funeral services for Herbert Turner, formerly of Greenville, who died Friday afternoon in a Mesquite hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The service will be in the Jones Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Brigham Cemetery in Campbell. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Jones Funeral Home in Commerce.

COMMERCE – Funeral services for Herbert A. Turner, 73, of 4909 Astor Road in Mesquite who died Friday afternoon in a Garland hospital will be at 2 p.m. today in the Jones Funeral Chapel here.
Officiating will be the Rev. Danny Buster. Burial will be in Brigham Cemetery in Campbell. Pallbearers will be Mike Pompa, Brent Wright, Gene Logan, Jessie Smith, Bobby D. Thomas and C.W. Green.
Turner was born in Hunt County on Sept. 9, 1906, the son of Alonzo Young Turner and Jessie Pearl Frost Turner. He married Thera Wheatley, who preceded him in death on May 26, 1969.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired café owner. He was a follower of the First Christian Church.
He is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Ura M. Turner of Garland; one brother, John Turner of Mesquite; three sisters, Mrs. Margret Spratt of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Peggy Skibell and Mrs. Corene Holonder, both of Dallas; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Bobby Bankston of Campbell.
