Thomas Gerald Ferguson - Asheville Citizen-Times
Waynesville - Thomas Gerald Ferguson, age 62, of Crawford Road, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 at Mission Hospitals following an extended illness of cancer.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was a 1959 graduate of Crabtree-Iron Duff High School and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He retired from Day International after 36 years of service as a Development Technician.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Hendrix Ferguson; his parents, Carl and Virginia Crawford Ferguson of Clyde; two daughters, Karen Cannon and her husband, Stan,of Waynesville and Rhonda Jones and her husband, David, of Charlotte; three sisters, Jackie Walker and her husband, Robert, of Clyde, Carlene Cochran and her husband, John, of Waynesville, and Sandra Wood and her husband, Charles, of Waynesville; and three grandchildren, April and Shelby Cannon, and Jackson Jones.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the
Antioch Baptist Church. The Rev. Steven Taylor officiated. Burial followed at the church cemetery. The family received friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. on Monday prior to the services at the church. At other times, the family were at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 542 Iron Duff Road, Waynesville, NC 28785.
