Son of William Copeland and Elizabeth Cole Copeland.

Death certificate (26/151)says that he died in the Elkin Hospital.

Known as "The Professor", Jesse T. Copeland was a highly respected citizen, a very moral man, with character above board. He was quite an intellectual and attended law school at what is now Wake Forest University, when it was still located in the town of Wake Forest, NC. He set up practice in the small town of Dobson, NC, and also taught at the local high school. Marrying for the first time late in life, he was a strict but loving father to his eight children, and did have the joy of seeing the birth of his first grandchild before he died suddenly in 1940.

Note**Jesse was very political, and enjoyed naming some of his children after prominent Republican politicians that he admired (Pres. Abraham Lincoln, Sen. William Borah)**
