August F. Roehl, 79, town of Schleswig, passed away at St. Nicholas hospital Monday afternoon. He had been a patient at the hospital since fracturing his hip in a fall six weeks ago.
He was born in the town of Meeme on Dec. 4, 1871, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Roehl. When he was nine years of age the family moved to Peshtigo, and he to Schleswig in 1904. He was married there to Helena Quante on Sept. 10, 1908, and the couple settled on the Quante family homestead farm.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Elsie, at home; one brother, Otto, of Marinette; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Kamps of Marinette, Mrs. Gussie Kamka of Peshtigo, and Mrs. Charles Rasmussen of Colby.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Zion Lutheran church, Louis Corners. The Rev. William Hartwig will officiate and burial will be made in Union cemetery.
