Shirley grew up in Waco, Texas and later lived in Arkansas, Wichita, Kansas and Kinsley, Kansas. Shirley married the love of her life, Ross Jamison on September 15, 1946 in Kinsley, Kansas where they for 17 years. She was a beauty operator while in Kinsley and Mr. Jamison worked for the railroad, later being transferred to Hutchison, KS and Topeka, KS, before making their home in Cushing in 1970. Shirley loved being around people, volunteering at the Cushing Hospital Auxiliary for many years, and was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star in Cushing. She also helped the Mason's with their School Eye Exams, and while in Kinsley and Cushing, she served as Brownie Scout Leader. Shirley also served on the Election Board for fifteen years, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was a pretty fair artist. Ross and Shirley were also longtime member of the First Christian Church in Cushing.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ross Jamison of the home, son Larry Jamison of Wichita, daughters Mary Mandeville and husband David of Missouri City, TX, Pat Thurlow and finance' Jim Taute of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, grandchildren Rob Mandeville, Tim Mandeville, Clinton Thurlow and wife Cheri, Sean Thurlow and wife Mikki, Jeana Credille, and Linsi Smith-Jamison, Morgan Jamison, great-grandchildren Garrett, Megan, Felesha, C.J., Abbi, Emma, Preston, Andrew, and Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dean Jamison, brother Ralph Hutson and two step-brothers.
