Ira D S Kelly, 92, Roeland Park, died February 1, 1993, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Services will be at 10 am Thursday at the Roeland Park United Methodist Church; burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr Kelly was born in Chicago and had lived in this area since 1943. He was a civil engineer for Howard Needles Tammen & Bergendoff for nine years, retiring in 1965. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was an Army Veteran of World Wars I and II, retiring as a Colonel in 1960. He was a life member of the American Military Engineers and a member of the Military Order of the World Wars, the Retired Officers Association and the Reserve Officers Association.

His wife, Mildred J Kelly, died in 1987.

Survivors include two sons, George D Kelly, Merriam, and James W Kelly, Los Angeles; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
