Moxley served in World War One as a Private in Iowas 161st Infantry 41st Division. He was the owner of Turnipseeds Service and Tire shop in Des Moines Iowa. On August 22nd 1933 Moxley was struck by a car which caused a laceration of his left knee. The resulting infection caused his death a month and a half later. He was married to Gertrude at the time of his death,they had no children.
