JANESVILLE - Mary Jean Fuhrman, age 87, passed away Tuesday., July 25, 2000, at Evansville Manor in Evansville. She was born May 5, 1913, in Fontana, WI, the daughter of Eugene and Estelle (Crumb) Rossmiller. She married Martin Fuhrman on July 10, 1939, in Nashua, IA; he preceded her in death on Oct 5, 1996. Mary Jean attended grade school in Fontana, graduated from Walworth High School in 1930 and from the State Teachers College in Whitewater in 1935. She taught school in Bowler, Gresham, Mauawa and Walworth High Schools for a total of 16 years. After that she prepared income tax returns for H & R Block for 16 years. Mary Jean was an avid reader of mystery novels, loved flowers and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Fuhrman of Walworth; a daughter, Sandra Fuhrman of Janesville; a brother, Charles "Cork" Rossmiller of Fontana; 2 sisters, Betty (Wally) Schulz and Joanne (Dave) Woodrich, both of Walworth.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Fri., July 28, 2000, at Toynton's Walworth Funeral Home, with Fr. Dan Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Walworth Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Friday at Toynton's Walworth Funeral Home.
