Mrs. Daisy Mitchell, 92, of 319 North Fair Street, Olney, passed away last evening at the family residence following a long period of ill health.

She was a native of Edwards County and was the daughter of William T. Mercer and Julia Doty Mercer.

She was married to Charles Abe Mitchell on April 19, 1889. He passed away on October 24, 1953.

She was a member of the Sugar Creek (Blain) Christian Church and had been affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Olney for the past few years. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Olney Rebekah Lodge.

She leaves five children, Mrs. C. G. (Wilma) Fritschle, Mrs. A. J. (Loda) Kimmel and Mrs. Omar (Velma) Dressel, all of Olney, Loren Mitchell of Bloomington, Indiana, and William Mitchell of Ehrenberg, Arizona. There are 8 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves a half-sister, Mrs. Alta Ice of Yakima, Washington.

Besides her husband, she has been preceded in death by a daughter, Lola.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers-Marshall Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Arganbright officiating. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. Rebekah Lodge will hold memorial services at 8 p.m., Tuesday.
