He was born July 30, 1924, in Perth, the son of Charles and Katherine (Crisler) Bixby.
Mr. Bixby was a heavy equipment operator and had traveled the entire country with his work. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Reta on Aug. 29, 1992. He was also preceded by his parents, three infant sisters and two infant brothers.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Bixby-Stephens and husband Ric of Converse, Texas; one brother, Myron Bixby and wife Lena of Del Rio, Texas; one grandson, Mike Schurle of Wamego; one granddaughter, Brandy Biltoft and husband Matthew of Meriden; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grandview-Mill Creek Cemetery, northeast of Riley.
