Morgan Ruby Nichols, 22, of Greeneville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday (March 25, 2009) at Harriman Medical Center in Harriman, TN. She was born Friday, June 13, 1986 in Knoxville, TN. Prior to moving to Greenville, TN, Morgan had lived in Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Kingston, (Tennessee) and Fort Collins, CO. She was a graduate of Midway High School in Roane County and had worked for Michael Dunn Rehabilitation Center in Kingston, Phonebase in Fort Collins and Quick Stop Markets in Greeneville. She was a loving and caring mother and a friend to all who knew her, especially the mentally and physically challenged and the elderly. She was an avid animal lover and had doctored, nursed and cared for many animals throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dewey J. and Mary Ann Nichols; her namesake, great-grandmother, Ruby Lillian Nichols and the '"Love of Her Life", Rex Neal Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Haley Maryann Smith of the home; father, David Nichols of Kingsport; mother, Lachlyn Parker Nichols of Johnson City; maternal grandparents, James L. and Claranne Parker of Farmington, CT; two sisters, Meredith Ann Givens and Laura Lyn Nichols and fiancee Shannon Barr; nephew, Anthony Givens and niece, Alyssa Givens, all of Greeneville. She is also survived by her uncle, Bryne Parker and wife Jeanette of Bedford, NH; aunt Betsyanne Stepney of Orleans, Cape Cod, MA; uncle Charles Nichols, aunt Karen Vaughn and husband Richard, cousins Megan, Britanny and Katie Vaughn, all of Clinton TN, along with special family Don and Eilene Kyle of Kingston.
