Mrs. Lydia Elmira PARTRIDGE, 73, died at 8:45 a.m. today (December 29, 1950) in Woodlawn hospital where she had been a patient since Wednesday. She had been ill for a year. Born Sept. 26, 1877, in Clinton county, she was the daughter of Jacob and Martha KIRKENDALL SOMSEL and on May 1, 1898, at Michigantown, was married to Frank PARTRIDGE. She moved to Newcastle township from Clinton county in 1918. A member of the Talma Christian church, she is survived by the husband, at home; two sons, Paul and Harold [PARTRIDGE] of Rochester; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth KALMBACHER, Kokomo, Mrs. Clyde WHITE, South Bend, and Mrs. Roy HAWK, Argos; a brother, Jacob SOMSEL, Frankfort; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will be taken to the farm residence in Newcastle township at 4 p.m. Sunday and will be returned to the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home Monday morning. Final rites will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Grant BLACKWOOD will officiate and burial will be in the Reichter cemetery.
