Mrs. Geraldine I. Clark, 82, of Venice, Fla., and formerly of LaPorte, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at TideWell Hospice House, Venice. She was born Sept. 24, 1923, in LaPorte to Charles and Madge (Shrontz) Vermilyer, and had lived in Venice since 1996, coming from LaPorte. Mrs. Clark had been the bookkeeper for Robert W. Clark Construction Co. She also worked at the pro shop of Beacon Hills Golf Club, where she and her husband were among the original owners. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, an Eastern Star member for more than 50 years, and a member of First Christian Church, all in LaPorte. She was married for 59 years to Robert W. Clark, who died Jan. 17, 2004. One sister also preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Signe D. Steen of Venice; two sons, Gregory A. of Englewood, Fla., and Thomas C. of Texas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. The funeral was today at Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, Venice.
