T. L. Blackford was born 7 Sept. 1853 in Illinois, & died 4 Mar. 1911, at Mapleton, Iowa, being 57 years, 6 months, 21 days.
When about 8 years of age he came to Iowa with his parents. On 10 July 1874, he was united in marriage with Miss Henrietta Josephine Clary, to which this union 12 children; 6 boys & 6 girls were born, 9 of whom are still living.
They are William of Ruthven, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Moses of Oto, Iowa; Mrs. Rosa Watkins of Anthon, Iowa; Charles of Moville, Iowa; Mrs. Mamie Gates of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Edward, Guy, Bertha & Lloyd of Mapleton, Iowa.
When 16 years of age he united with the church & remained a believer until his death. He was a kind husband & loving father.
The remains were interred in the Oto Cemetery Monday.
