MANCHESTER -- Florence M. (Paulakis) Clarke, 86, of 39 Jobin Drive, died March 1, 2009, at Elliot Hospital.
She was born in Bahmon, Germany, May 22, 1922, to Nicholas and Anna Maria (Doll) Paulakis. She had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Manchester in 1966.
She was an accomplished seamstress, and had worked as a floor lady for Pomeroy's in New York. She had also worked part-time for Easter Seals in New Hampshire.
She was a devoted Christian and loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a selfless person and loving mother and grandmother.
She was the widow of Joseph Clarke Jr., who died in 1997.
Family members include a son, Joseph Clarke III of Manchester; two daughters, Nicolette Hecker of Dunbarton, and Carolann Elliott of Manchester; three grandchildren; a brother, Paul Paulakis of Selah, Wash.; a sister, Katherine Feltham of Staten Island, N.Y.; and nephews, nieces and cousins.
SERVICES: A graveside committal service is Thursday at 2 p.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery.
