STEVENS – Marcelline E., 97, Ebensburg, passed away peacefully March 30, 2009, at Windber Medical Center. Born Jan. 11, 1912, in Marshalltown, Iowa, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Kirsch) Stout. Preceded in death by husband, Elmer A. Stevens; daughters, Bonnie Marella and Barbara Sweeney; son, John Paul "Jack" Stevens; sisters: Oley Stout, Alean Lilly and Dorothy Shank; brothers: Gerard, Louis, Francis and Reginald Stout; son-in-law, James Raymond Monteith; and grandson, James Robert Monteith. Survived by children: Bridget Monteith, Stoystown; Deanna, wife of Donald Gergley, Nanty Glo; Alfred Stevens, Galitin, Tenn.; Dean (Eleanor) Stevens, Altoona; and Gary (Darlene) Stevens, Pahrump Nev. Also survived by sister, Margaret M. Colaianni, Tire Hill; also 32 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church. Marcelline loved doing crossword puzzles and loved all animals. She was very active in the Ebensburg Senior Activities Center when her health was better. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Thursday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery.
