George Washington Hardaway was the third child and second born son to William H. Hardaway (Hillory) and Ms. Nancy O'Neal--these two never married. George Washington Hardaway had an older brother named Melvin Clark Hardaway and a sister named Minnie M. (possibly for Minta) Hardaway.
G.W. Hardaway was born 02 May 1904 in Texas (more than likely in Gonzales County). He did marry Rosetta Hodges and had six children. He passed away of Hypostatic Pneumonia on 12 October 1957 in Seguin, Texas. The newspaper headline coins him a "well-known" Seguin man" concerning his death in 1957.
