Attack Fatal to Wesley Schmidt
Funeral Rites will be on Wednesday
Wesley R. Schmidt, manager of the O & N Lumber Company in Marshfield, died of a heart attack Sunday afternoon. He was 53 years of age.
Schmidt was pushing a car in the driveway of his home, 314 Magee St., when he was stricken. The Marshfield Fire Department rescue squad was summoned at 2:44 p.m. and Schmidt was removed by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Services will be held at the Rembs Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. R. L. Jacobs, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the Rib Lake cemetery.
Mr. Schmidt was born in Curtiss March 3, 1909 and was a small child when his parents moved to Rib Lake. He was married on May 20, 1929 to Viola Klister, who survives him. The couple resided in Marshfield from 1946 to 1949, while Mr. Schmidt was an employee of the O & N Lumber Company. In 1949 he was appointed manager of the company's branch in Cornell. In 1959 he returned to Marshfield to manage the firm's interests here.
While a resident of Rib Lake Mr. Schmidt was a village trustee and clerk of the school board.
Other survivors are two daughters, Gerine, at home and Mrs. John (Janet) Lester, Madison; five grandchildren; a sister, Miss Mildred Schmidt, Manitowoc, and a brother, Chester, Milwaukee.
He was processed in death by a son and a daughter.
