James K. Alverson, former school commissioner and well known Civil War veteran, died at his home in Albany on Friday aged 73. Mr. Alverson was a resident of this town during the major portion of his life, first at Huntersland, and later in this village, following his marriage to Miss Rhoda Shoemaker, daughter of the late Abraham Shoemaker.
