Alois J. Gellings, 89, a retired Town of Eaton farmer, died early today at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, where he had been a resident six years.
Born on July 24, 1886 at St. Nazianz, he was a son of the late John and Catherine Mueller Gellings. He attended St. Gregory Catholic School there. On May 10, 1921, he married Anna Broeckert at SS Peter and Paul Cathoic Church, Kiel.
The couple located on a farm near St. Nazianz, retiring in 1947 when they moved to Kiel. Mrs. Gellings died July 24, 1953.
While in Kiel, he was caretaker of the city cemetery. He was a member of SS. Peter Paul Parish and its Holy Name Society.
Survivors are a daughter, and two grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church, the Rev. Francis Kerscher, pastor, celebrant of mass. Brief family rites will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
