She was born in Jefferson City, a daughter of James T. and Grace Ray Blair. She was married Sept. 14, 1928, to Lynn M. Ewing, who died in 1958. She was married in 1966, to Jack C. Coffey, who died in 1969.
She attended Maryville Convent of the Sacred Heart, St. Louis, and the University of Missouri-Columbia where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
She was secretary and president of the Nevada Library Board. She was a member of the board of trustees of the Missouri Society for Crippled Children and Adults, where she served as vice president from 1953-1957.
She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Nevada, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Kansas City. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
She lived in Washington, D.C., and was executive secretary to Sen. Thomas Hennings in 1958. She also served as the executive secretary of Sen. Edward Long.
She lived in Lake Forest, Ill., from 1966-1969. She then moved to Kansas City. She was a member of the Board of the Nettleton Home and a member of the Armour Memorial Home. She was a life member of St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Society of Fellows of the Nelson Atkin's Museum, and a member of The Kansas City Country Club.
Survivors include: two sons, Lynn M. Ewing, Jr., Nevada, and Blair G. Ewing, Silver Spring, Md.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. O.M. Paterson and Mrs. Edward F. Swift, both of Chicago; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, Overland Park, Kan. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Deepwood Cemetery, Nevada.
