The greatest blessing our dad and mother, Avis Marie Freeman Fountain, left their children was a spiritual heritage about our Father and His Son Christ Jesus. They didn't send us to church. They took us to church. My siblings and I are eternally blessed to have parents who taught us these things. Charlene Fountain

Alfred F. Fountain of Tilly died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1995 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center.
He was owner and operator of Fountain Grocery, a cattle farmer, was involved in the logging and stave bolt business, and more. He was a son of late William Robert "Bob" and Alzina Roberts Fountain, a charter member and deacon Tilly Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Avis Freeman Fountain, and a son Charles Alfred Fountain.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Geral Hurley of Tilly and Frank and Charlene Romines of Hector; a sister, Velva Fountain of Tilly, and two grandchildren, Hayley and Cal Adney of Tilly and Ashley and Brent Lee of Jerusalem.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tilly Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Luther Branscum.
Elder O.L. Kinsey and the Elder George Boyd conducted the service, and burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery at Tilly by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Pallbearers:
Active – James Fountain, Gerald Fountain, Rudy Freeman, Milburn Small, Jay Fountain, and Gary Freeman. Honorary – postmasters and employees of Superior Forestry Service.
