The Honorable J.Calvin Aker,60,Booneville,Kentucky,died March 3,2000 at Centeral Babtist Hospital.
A Pulaski County native he was born June 3,1939.He was the son of Dr.J.Raymond and Jeanette Baker Aker.
He praticed law in eastern Kentucky and was a retired Kentucky Supreme Court Justice.He was a former Assisatant commonwealth attorney,former district judge of the 28th Judicial District of Pulaski and Rockcastle counties and was appointed to the Kentucky Ethices Panel by former Governor Martha Layne Collins.
He is survived by a former wife,Jenny Turpen of Frankfort ; a son Matthew Aker of Frankfort,a daughter Allison J. Aker of Frankfort;a half-brother Dr.Charles Aker of Titusville,Fla.and an aunt Ellen Baker Green of Somerset.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-sister Lena Aker Cooley.
Funeral services were held at 11a.m Tuesday ,March7,at Frist Presbyterian Church in Somerset,arrangewents by Morris Hislope Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the church after 4p.m. March 6,2000. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
