She was the former Edna Peter born March 27, 1916 in the Town of Rhine, daughter of the late John and Ella (Jochman) Peter.
On August 26, 1936 Edna was united in marriage to Norman Rabe at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Town of Rhine. Norman preceded her in death on November 16, 1978.
Edna and Norman farmed in the Town of Schleswig until 1978 when they moved to their home in Rockville. Edna also was employed at Lake to Lake, Kiel for 26 years.
Edna did volunteer work for Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include one son, Gerald (Theresa) Rabe, Howards Grove; one son-in-law, Donald (Gloria) Steinfest, Brillion; six grandchildren, Lori (Brian) Horn, Dale Steinfest, Dean (Sharon) Steinfest and Darrel Steinfest, all of Brillion, Linda Rabe and friend, Kevin Hoppe of Sheboygan and Randy Rabe of Milwaukee. She is further survived by six great-grandchildren, Amber (Kevin) Leiterman, Michael and Thomas Horn, Kaylah, Josie and Justin, all of Brillion; two great-great-grandchildren, Grant and Trent Leiterman; and three sisters-in-law, Marie Peter, Anna and Rose Rabe.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marlene Steinfest; one son, Glenn Lee Rabe; one grandson, Brian Steinfest; her twin sister, Erna Peter; one brother, Arno Peter; infant sister, Viola; and three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Lester and George Rabe and Harry and Roma Rabe.
Funeral services for Edna will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 30, 2009 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners with Rev. Ted Olsen officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
