Clementine Foreman was the daughter of Hiromia "Hiram" Foreman and Elma Anna Sally. She first married 19 Feb 1882 in Prairie Co AR, to Wilson Martin. On 27 Apr 1892, she married widower George W James in Lonoke Co AR. She had two children, George Ernest and Joseph "Joe" James. Her husband died and Joe died and she and her son George Ernest James had a hard life. Clementine had cancer and George would walk 2 miles every day to pick cotton to try and support his mother and buy her medicine. In my early interviews with my folks, according to my dad, and I quote "Aunt Clem died at our house when I was about 5, and she was a real tall woman." He was 4, going on 5, when she passed away. This would mean she died at the home of my grandparents, Effie Lee Foreman and Luther Wilson Moss. I think they lived at Hallville then, in Prairie Co. Effie was the daughter of Clementine's brother, George Foreman. Clementine's grandaughters thought she had died without family attending to her. The recollection of my dad eased their minds about that.
