"Frank was exceptionally strong and had quick hands and feet. As a result, he took up boxing while in the Army during WWII. In the 1950s, Frank took his reluctant mother, Georgia Anna Rushing, to the East Baton Rouge Parish Courthouse and had his name changed from Benjamin Franklin Rushing to Frank Ben Rushing, the name which he had been using his entire life. A few years later he moved to Sulphur, Louisiana, where he had a street named after him, Rushing Road. He died of brain cancer."
