Donald L. Coffing, Feb. 1, 1927 - April 3, 2003, Donald Leroy COFFING, 76, Peru, died at 11:25 a.m. Thursday at his residence.
Born in Cass County to Russell and Goldie WILES COFFING, he married Donna J. ZELLERS Sept. 5, 1948, in Twelve Mile. She survives. Mr. Coffing was a retired farmer and worked for N & W Railroad. He was a former manager of The Alpine Village Flea Market. He was a member of Mexico Church of the Brethren and Masonic Lodge No. 347, Mexico. Mr. Coffing was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving with his wife, at home, are three daughters, Twila COLLINS and husband David, Bunker Hill, Anita SHARP and husband Gene, Newburgh and Chris COFFING, Bunker Hill; three sons, Mike [COFFING] and wife Debbie, Coldwater, Mich., Mark [COFFING[ and wife Bonnie, and Danny SOFIANOS and wife Amy, all of Peru; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, June GARROW and Rachel STEWART, both of Mishawaka, Nina LYNCH, Rochester, Betty LEWIS, Twelve Mile and Joan COFFING, Indianapolis; and two brothers, Richard [COFFING], Roann and Dewey [COFFING], Burnettsville.
Preceding in death were his parents and one brother, Kenneth W. "Bill" COFFING.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with Rev. Todd WENGER officiating.
Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mexico Church of the Brethren or Miami-Wabash County Hospice.
