Jonathan Leslie Landrith always went by his middle name of Leslie.

Leslie Landrith lost his father, Hardin Moore Landrith, when he was 15 years of age and the support of his mother, three brothers and one sister fell upon the shoulders of this young man, who worked and assisted his mother with the rearing of the family.
Sometime between 1873-1880 J. Leslie Landrith, with his mother and siblings, left their home in Iowa and moved back to Macoupin county, Illinois (the place of his birth), where he later married Hannah Berella Gray August 12,1880.
At the time of Leslie's marriage to Hannah, he was residing at Macoupin County, Illinois, and was listed as a farmer. He was age 24 at the time of marriage. In 1883 they came to Kansas by covered wagon route and located in Oswego, where they reared their family of six children.

Leslie and Hannah Landrith are found at the time of the 1910 Census residing on Kansas Street in Oswego, Labette county, Kansas. They had all six children still living at home the oldest now Ira, now age 27. Leslie was a wagon driver, city work. It was the first marriage for each of them. Hannah is now the mother of six, all living as of 19 April 1910.
