Marie K.McLochlin, 88, 1415 Washington St., Rochester, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Friday at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born on March 23, 1921, in Fulton County, the daughter of Omer and Agnes (Tyrell) Richardson. A lifelong resident of Fulton County, she graduated from Twelve Mile High School in 1939. On Jan. 2, 1940, in Rochester, she married J. Robert "Bob" McLochlin. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2003. They enjoyed their family and all their activities. They spent many years raising Standardbred horses, often traveling to races in Chicago and throughout the Midwest. Marie was an avid card player, especially bridge and pinochle, and was also an excellent seamstress.

In 1959, she became a hairdresser after completing courses for cosmetology in Logansport. She worked her own business, Marie's Countryside Beauty Shop, until the last few years. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Altar Society and Rosary Society, Reiter Club, Fulton County Hairdressers' Association, Pinhook Grange, Fulton County Women's Democrat Club, and the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lucinda McLochlin, Rochester; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Bill McMillen, Rochester; grandchildren, John and wife Hilda McLochlin, Rochester, Andrea Marrs, Culver, Shannon and husband Tom Marrs, Rochester, Nicholle McLochlin (widow of Jeff McLochlin), Rochester, Colleen Wood, Indianapolis, Brad McMillen, Studio City, Calif., Sheila and husband Too Keller, Carmel; fourteen great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Warfield, Kewanna, and Jane Beery, Rochester; and her special family member, Beau, her pet schnauzer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandson, Jeff McLochlin, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2006.
