Clyde S. Mundell, 83, of RD 1, Carmichaels, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 1982 at Washington Hospital. Born October 14, 1898 in Mundell Hollow, he was a son of the late Edward T. and Rosa Donham Mundell. He is survived by his wife, M. Audrey Boord Mundell. He was a member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church. He was a graduate of California-Normal School and taught in the Nicholson Township and Smock Hill public schools, where he also served as principal. He also served as a penmanship supervisor for the P.O. Peterson Writing System for 16 years. He taught at the Nemacolin School until his retirement in 1964. He served with the U.S. Army in World War I. He was a member of Carmichaels Grange 1389 and was named Carmichaels 'Man of the Year' in 1976. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Shirley)Engel of Canonsburg; four sons, Wallace of Johnstown, Wilbur of Chillicoche, Ohio, Robert of Pittsburgh and Dale of Canonsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Helen) Boord of St. Petersburg, Florida and Mrs. David (Grace) Davies of R. D. 1, Greensboro; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Roger Dean and Donald Clyde.
