Henry's hometown was Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Henry Washington and Essie E. Bean Cagle, of Wichita, Kansas in 1946. Henry attended Hobart public schools and was a member of the Mt. Tepee Church. He joined the Marines on September 27, 1943 and was killed in action on Iwo Jima.
