CARELESS PORTER CAUSES PORTLAND WOMAN'S DEATH
Portland, March 7. Mrs John A. McClelland was buried here Sunday. Mrs. McClelland's death was the result of an accident on a Pullman train between St Joseph, MO. and DesMoines, IA when a porter suddenly pushed open the swinging door in the parlor car through which she was about to pass, knocking her down and causing injuries which resulted in her death at a DesMoines hospital. Her husband and three children survive her. The children are Mrs. E.A. Richard of Portland, William who manages McClelland and Sons store, Portland and Mrs. Ferdinand Schmidt, Des Moines, Iowa."

The daughters names were Gertrude and Lula May.
