He was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Fancy Creek, the son of Oliver D. and Hattie I. Daniels Lewis. He married Helen F. Rowe in 1960. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1991; two sisters, Juanita Brogdon and Mary Rodgers; and a brother, Donald Lewis.
Mr. Lewis had been a resident of Springfield most of his life. He retired in 1992 from Lewis Motor Co.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Lisa L.) Countryman of Rochester; son, Bill Lewis II of Springfield; a granddaughter; three sisters, Dorothy Wilson of Jacksonville, Mrs. John (Martha) Nally and Mrs. Robert (Linda) Williams, both of Springfield; two brothers, Leo Lewis of Springfield and Paul Lewis of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
