Christopher is an American Civil War Veteran, late of Company C of the 152nd Infantry Regiment, New York State Volunteers, a soldier who died in service to his county. He is the son Frederick Bellinger & Elizabeth (Shoemaker) Bellinger, and husband of Eva (Nellis) Bellinger.

From the official 152nd New York Regimental Roster:
"BELLINGER, CHRISTOPHER F. — Age, 44 years. Enlisted, September 6, 1862, at Mohawk, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. C, October 14, 1862; died of heart disease, September 12, 1863, at hospital, New York City."

On 12 Jul 1863, the 152nd New York was ordered to New York City to become part of the U.S. Army Department of the East in military support against the infamous "New York City Draft Riots." The regiment remained so attached until 24 Oct 1863, when they were ordered to rejoin the 2nd Corps of the Army of the Potomac. Unfortunately, Christorher died from a heart attack while engaged against these Democrat Party inspired & fueled draft riot activiites.
