BRIDGEWATER — A private graveside service for the Rev. Minor Morton Myers, 81, of Bridgewater will be conducted Thursday at Oak Lawn Cemetery at Bridgewater by the Rev. Robert Sherfy and the Rev. Henry Eller.

A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday night at College Street Church of the Brethren by Mr. Sherfy and Philip Trout.

Mr. Myers died early Tuesday morning (Sept. 16, 1969) at Bridgewater Home for the Aging where he had lived for two months. He had been in declining health since October.

He was born March 18, 1888 at Timberville, a son of Benjamin F. A. and Elizabeth (Garber) Myers.

He was graduated from Bridgewater College and Vanderbilt University and was a minister in the Church of the Brethren for 60 years, serving both in the United States and in China.

Mr. Myers was married twice. His first wife, the former Sara C. Zigler, died in 1948. In 1950 he married the former Valley Miller, survives.

Also surviving are three children, Wellington Z. Myers of Morristown, N. J., Dr. Donald S. Myers of Hot Springs and Mrs. Doris Ruth Brubaker of Winterville, Ga.; two brothers, Howard F of Sebring. Fla. and John T. Myers of Ft. Myers, Fla., and 11 grandchildren.

The body is at W. L. Rosenberger Funeral Home in Bridgewater.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.
