Bert Brown, age 66, for more than 50 years a citizen of Douglas County, died at his home in Eudora Wednesday night at 10 o'clock. Death was due to a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. W.O. Watson in charge. Burial will be in the Eudora cemetery. Bert Brown had lived in Eudora for more than 40 years where he operated a barber shop. He was born November 26, 1873 in Iowa. June 27, 1891 he was married to Miss Lulu Perkins of Eudora. Mr. and Mrs. Brown lived in Lawrence for several years and then made Eudora their permanent home. He is survived by his widow, 4 daughters and 3 sons, Mrs. Lulu Brown, Eudora; Mrs. Mildred Miller, Kansas City; Mrs. Adeline (Addelene) Milburn and Mrs. Virginia Berry, Silver City, New Mexico; Oliver and Forest Brown, Kansas City and Herbert Brown, Eudora. Bert Brown was a friendly, genial, quiet man, who took life as it came. Everyone in Eudora will miss him, his smile and cheerful greetings.
