Mr. Brooks was born Jan. 5, 1894, in Parksvilie, the son of Charles Henry and Ann (Yates) Brooks.
He married Edna Lavina Winas April II, 1914, and he preceded her in death
Jan.17,1959.
He was retired from Pure Oil Co. and was a member of Antioch Church.
Survivors include six sons, Alva, Jr., Kissimmee, Fla.; William. Casper, Wyo.; Kenneth, Ludington, Mich.; Robert, Olney; Walter, Roseville, Mich.; Charles, Chicago; six daughters, Mabel Black, Evelyn Burgener and Jeanie Cantwell, all of Olney; Florence Skinner, Detroit, Mich.; Mary Stewart, Ft. Worth, Texas; and Mildred Head, Warren, Mich.; 37 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a child and a sister.
