Alice Maria Beswick, daughter of James and Mary Beswick was born near Stockport, Iowa, October 24, 1861, and died at her home in Stockport October 7, 1929 being 67 years, 11 months and 14 days old.
January 27, 1880, she was united in marriage to Stephen B. Johnston who preceded her in death June 5, 1922.
To this union were born four children, Stella M. Ely of Des Moines, Iowa; Clarence C. Johnston, Mabel Dunn and Lena A. Wilmoth of Stockport, who are left to mourn her loss. Also thirteen grandchildren, two sisters Agnes Johnston and Lena Nixon of Stockport, stepmother, Viola Beswick, two half brothers, Lloyd Beswick of Billings, Mont., Worthy Beswick of Stockport and half sister, Lola Gregory of Stockport and a host of friends.
She was a kind and loving mother. In her early life she became a member of the Utica Baptist church and was a faithful member.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Under the direction of Rev. Scranton and burial was beside her husband at Dibble cemetery.
