She was born in White County, Ill., March 27, 1827.
She was 55 years old.
Her maiden name was Eunice Calkins, and was married to Wm. T. Shelby May 19, 1845, and shortly after moved to Olney, Ill.
Mrs. Shelby was the mother of seven children. Four are now living, all daughters: Mrs. O. C. Palmateer, Mrs. Harry May, Martha D. Shelby and Eunice Shelby.
