Funeral services for Mrs. Paurlee E. Henning,
72, well known resident of Rt2, Astoria, who
died Monday, will be held Thursday afternoon at the Knappa church. Rev. W. H. Reeve, pastor of the Assembly of God church will officiate and burial will be in the Knappa cemetery.
Mrs. Henning was born in Kansas on September 27, 1873 and came west in a covered wagon with her parents when she was eight years old. They settled first in Brownsville, when Mrs. Henning was married in 1892. In 1895 they moved to Ohio where they lived for several years, returning to La Grand in 1911 and in 1912 they came to Knappa where Mrs. Henning has lived ever since.
Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Williams, of Bremerton Wash., Mrs. Bessie Evans of Montello, Nevada, Mrs. Grace Dowell, of Seattle and Mrs. Blanche Gear of Chelan Wash.: one son, Forest Henning of Hillsboro, Ore: nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be Johnnie Hepburn, Jasper Titus, Anthone Peterson, Elbert Ennis, Alex Topola and Bob Ziek. Funeral services are under the direction of the Hughes Ransom mortuary.
