Wade Ray Eddins, was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Conroe, the son of Raymond Hill and Lily Blanche (McCullar) Eddins. He grew up in Magnolia Gardens, and attended Furr Junior High, Crosby High School and graduated from C.E. King High School. Wade enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1957 and was Honorably Discharged in 1961. After serving his country, he was employed at AT&T as a wireman.

A Baptist by faith, Wade was united in marriage to Beatrice Clara Tullos, on Jan. 20, 1958, in Houston. Wade and Beatrice made their home in New Ulm, where they raised their two daughters; Candy and Penny. Wade was a member of the West End Baptist Church and also a member of the New Ulm Lions Club from 1987-1991, the Telephone Pioneers of America and Boy Scouts of America. The joy of his life was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed singing, painting, woodwork, hunting, writing poems, planting trees and collecting rocks.

At the age of 72, Wade passed away at his home in New Ulm with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years: Beatrice Clara (Tullos) Eddins; his daughters and sons-in-law: Candy and Gregg Schubert and Penny and Stuart Foerster all of New Ulm; grandchildren: Angie Grawunder and her husband, Nathan, of Bellville, Jessica Hall and her husband, Derek, of Brenham, T.J. Foerster and his fianc/e, Elizabeth Meyer, of New Ulm, Brady Schubert and his special friend, Jamie Locke, of Brenham, and Hilary Foerster and her special friend, Butch Adamson, of New Ulm; great-grandson: Layne Grawunder, of Bellville; future step great-grandchildren: Kolden and Raylee Meyer. Also surviving Wade is his brother: Ronnie W. Eddins and his wife, Mary, of Dayton; sister-in-law: Judy (Eddins) Barrett and her husband, Billy, of Sheldon; close friends: Tommy Caldwell and his wife, Joan, of La Porte and many other family and friends. Wade is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Donna Jane Eddins; brother, Jimmie Dale Eddins; and nephew, Bobby Eddins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009, from 5-7 p.m., at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the West End Baptist Church in Industry with Pastor Dennis Keen, officiating. Interment will follow at the New Ulm Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorials to the Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 East Blue Bell Road, Brenham, Texas 77833 or to the West End Baptist Church, P.O. Box 67, Industry, Texas 78944.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Schmidt Funeral Home, Bellville, TX.
