Born Nov. 6, 1956, in Pensacola, Fla., he had lived in the area for the past six years. A retired U.S. Navy warrant officer, he served on various submarines and last served on the USS Eisenhower. He was a member of the Germantown United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leila Lindsey; and father, Thomas W. Lindsey.
Survivors include mother, Betty Lindsey of Millington; daughters and son-in-law, Chandra and Robert Shaw of Burleson, Texas, and Timothy Lindsey of Gainesville, Fla.; daughter, Stephanie Lindsey of Gainesville; grandchildren, Corbin Shaw and Reagan Shaw; sisters, Peggy Gray of Millington, Joanna Gillian of Kent, Ohio, and Broxine Childress of Long Beach, Miss.; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry and Sandra Lindsey of Arlington, Tenn., Thomas W. Lindsey II of Memphis and Donald Lindsey of Millington; several nieces, nephews and special friends, including Ralph and Kathy Sheffield of Oliver Springs; and extended family members.
Funeral service was at noon Thursday, April 9, in Sharp Funeral Home chapel, Oliver Springs, with Pastor John Justice officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to either the American Cancer Society or Habitat for Humanity.
