She worked at the former Millville Shirt Company and Duralith Corporation for many years after retiring several years ago following failing health.
Born in Danville, Va., she moved to Millville in 1967. She enjoyed country music and dancing, but most of all loved spending time with her family. She loved elephants and had an extensive and impressive collection of figurines and statues.
She is survived by her loving and devoted granddaughter, Amanda N. Bennett of Mauricetown; her son, Charles C. Bennett Jr. and his fiancé Faith Howe of Millville; sisters Imogene Hicks of Johnson City, Tennessee; Carmen Riggins, Patricia Pangburn and Linda Hewitt, all of Millville; and two brothers, Roy F. Wiggins of Johnson City, Tennessee and Vass Wiggins of Pennsgrove.
Besides Amanda, Judy is survived by five other grandchildren, 19 nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Wendy Bennett, and two sweet grandchildren, Scotty McCarter Jr. and Melanie McCarter in 2006. She also was predeceased by her mother, Dora Ward, and father, Roy Wiggins, as well as her friend and ex-mother-in-law, Mary Rae Bennett.
Judy lived for her children and grandchildren. She is finally "flying free with her babies."
