A retired employee of U.S. Steel, he passed away at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at his residence in Central. He was 87, born Nov. 14, 1921, in Sicily Island. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he lost his brother - Johnnie Bourke - aboard the USS Evans.
Moe is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ouida Seal Bourke; two daughters, Linda and husband Jimmy DeLee, of Central, and Becky and husband Mike Watson, of Baton Rouge; three sons, David Bourke and wife Dee Dee, Johnnie Bourke, and Glenn and wife Allison, of Central; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Victor and Ida Ford Bourke; sister, Rosemary Bourke; and brothers, Louis and Johnnie Bourke.
