THOMAS GRAYKOWSKI
Thomas (Tommy) Graykowski, 62, of 3735 Custer St., Manitowoc, died Friday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services were held at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Thaddeus J. Koszarek officiated
and burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Graykowski was born March 14, 1909, at Lac du Flambeau, WI, son of the late Joseph and Anna Kluczykowski Graykowski. He moved to Manitowoc with his family as a child.
He married Katherine Knox on Sept. 28, 1940, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman.
He had been employed by the city of Manitowoc as a bridge tender for the past 18 years and prior to that had operated a service station at 26th and Washington Streets.
Mr. Graykowski was a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 706, the St. Mary Holy Name Society and the Manitowoc Old Times Baseball Club. He was well known in Manitowoc area as a baseball player and umpire.
Survivors include his wife, two sons (survivors omitted for privacy); six brothers, Harry, Lawrence, Wesley, Stanley, Casimer and John, all of Manitowoc and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Pinkowski of Milwaukee and Mrs. Joseph Knox of Manitowoc.
A sister, Mrs. Josephine Schuette, preceded him in death.
Friends called at the funeral home where the Old Timers Baseball Club met in a body and a Wake service was held.
