Ronald W. Schmerbeck, Sr., 70, Altoona, died Weds., April 8 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in Altoona, to Louis A. & Martha (McDermott) Schmerbeck. He married Patricia M. Urbanek March 8, 1967, in Altoona. Survived by wife; sons: Robert L. Schmerbeck & wife, Sylvia L., and William A. Schmerbeck & wife, Christine, all Altoona, and Ronald W. Schmerbeck, Jr. & wife, Nicole, York, PA; grandchildren: Mandie Reed, Bobby Sullivan, Zachary Settle and Megan Schmerbeck; several step grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Bookhammer, Altoona. Predeceased by brother, Bud Schmerbeck and sister, Lois Kreuz. He retired from the Samuel Rea Railroad Shops, Hollidaysburg, as a machinist. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife and entire family. Mr. Schmerbeck was a life member of the Bavarian Hall. Good Funeral Home @ Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Interment, Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
